One and Only Part Trois
For the final installment of the one and only series it gets really dicey. I’m sure you know by now that I am a sneaker buyer by profession. People ask me all of the time to name my favorite sneaker brand. Huh? That’s like picking your favorite child. Every parent has their favorite, (yeah you do), but you’re not going to say it out loud. Honestly, this is a hard one though. I’m in the middle of making a fashion buy this week and I can tell you that my favorite brand varies from quarter to quarter. I comb through hundreds of shoes every quarter and I’m tasked with picking the styles that I think my customers would enjoy. It’s rough. Sigh. I don’t really want to do this………..but I’m going to. If I could only pick one brand of sneaker to wear for a year, which one would it be? My pick goes to…………………………………….Adidas. Let me explain.
I’m sure you all thought that Nike would be the obvious choice. I get it. I mean Nike is Nike. They’re an incredible sportswear and athletic brand. But hear me out. The shoes that I have coveted the most in the past 12 months have been from Adidas. I have a ton of sneakers. I may wear more Nike shoes than Adidas. I own a lot more Nike shoes than Adidas. But the ones I reach for the most are Adidas. Particularly, that superstar shown above. I wear this shoe to death. This is a shoe that even looks good worn in its beat up state. It’s just that type of shoe. If you consider yourself a fashion girl at all, you better have a pair. That’s the fly girl uniform shoe. Yeah I said it. However, that is only one of the reasons why I am loving Adidas this season for kicks. The other reason is below.
This is the Adidas Neo Lite Racer shoe found at www.academy.com. This shoe hails from the Adidas Neo collection found in select stores across the country. These shoes are so chic and their cloudfoam technology makes you feel like you are actually walking on clouds. And the best part……they are $60. Adidas has a ton of shoes in their line like this that are so easy to wear and super affordable.

Yes please. YASSSSS!!!! This is the Adidas Neo Baseline and the retail is $55. I’m not even sure while you’re still reading this blog. I have these in pink and they are everything. I’m definitely picking up this color as well.
The other must have shoe of the season is this basic clean white shoe, the Adidas Neo Advantage Clean. This shoe takes major cues from the Stan Smith, without the Stan Smith price. They retail for $50 and they are truly the best fifty bucks you will ever spend. I suggest sizing down, because they run about a half size too big, similar to their Originals line.
Adidas is my choice for the three reasons listed above, but also because the brand’s style meshes well with the athleisure trend that has taken over the past few years. This trend is not slowing down, and the brand’s styling compliments those looks in versatile ways that other brands haven’t figured out yet. They also get the nod because their affordable Neo line is killing the game with their assortment. Check out some other notable styles and then head to the check out line.
