If you watched my latest Fashion Talk YouTube video, you know already know that I feel some kind of way about influencer’s lack of discussion about contemporary handbag designers. The luxury brands seem to get the bulk of the conversation when the innovation is being lead by the contemporary market. Now I love a good LV bag, just like the next girl. My LV Félicie Pochette is a staple in my travel bag, as it is compact but still has enough room for a slim card holder, phone, keys, a lippie and a compact. I’ve had it for about 3 years and it still looks new. LVs coated canvas pieces are simply a good investment. But so are a lot of less expensive bags. I get the need for the occasional IG flex of a Chanel Medium Flap when you want to let the girls know who TF you are. I just don’t agree with consistently pushing the narrative that luxury brands are all that matter in the land of accessories.

Covid has wreaked havoc on most of our lives in one way or another. If there is any silver lining in the retail space, it’s definitely for consumers. Store closures have forced retailers to run massive sales on both luxury and contemporary brands. In other words, there are a ton of accessories in the market available at great prices. We’re also approaching mid-Aug, and the Fall assortment needs somewhere to go on the sales floor. So old product has to find it’s way out. Now is the perfect time to find some great deals on accessories. But you have to act fast, as things are starting to really move as retailers mark goods to 75% off. Yes, that’s right. I said 75%. I’m going to list a ton of my favorite items so you don’t have to do the work. I’ve got you. So just sit back and enjoy the ride, preferably with your credit card in hand. :-)
