OOTD - Thanksgiving Edition

Well hello!  I know I’ve been missing in action for a minute and I apologize for that.  With the holidays among us, I’ve been super busy completing BSGO orders and working holiday shows.  I even managed to sneak in a quick vacation getaway in the middle of all of this chaos.  However, I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I know that I never gave you a complete view of my holiday look, so if you’re interested, keep reading.

The Look

It should be no surprise that I opted to wear a dress from Zara for the festive occasion.  Obviously, I’ve been loving Zara this season.  They have been killing the game with super affordable pieces all season long and I’m here for it.  Well done indeed.  I also hope you all took advantage of their 30% off entire purchase Black Friday event.  Okay, now back to the outfit.  Unfortunately, or fortunately (depending on your preference) it was relatively warm on the actual day in Houston, so I could get away with wearing short sleeves.  I love this dress because it’s a loose fitting midi style with an uneven hem (not quite high-low which is somewhat dated).  The hem gives this simple dress a bit of an edgier look.  The best part was that it was loose fitting, so it hid my stomach after eating all of that nonsense.  I really did eat too much.  But I digress.  I paired it with wine colored velvet booties that I accidentally bought from JustFab.  And by accident, I mean I forgot to skip the month, so I was forced to use my credit they took from my account. Gosh darn!  And remember, I told you months ago that velvet was really on trend.  I have 3 major pieces of velvet from this season, not to mention a few vintage pieces from previous seasons before it was really on trend.  I really didn’t think I would be incorporating it as much as I have, even though I have always loved the look.  But I’ve found that it’s a really easy way to take your outfit from basic to “damn you cute”.

Accessories

Of course, I was dying to wear my pearl/black fur earrings I picked up at a boutique in Chinatown.  They are so fun to wear and a conversation starter for sure.  The pendant was pretty dainty and minimal because I had enough going on with the fur on my ears.  However, a statement necklace would look great with this look paired with a simple earring.

ANDthe absolute BEST thing about this look is that the pieces are all still available! That almost never happens.  Well…..with the exception of the earrings. But I found a shop on Etsy that basically sells the same thing.

Enjoy.
