Cabin Fever

As I sit here pondering the meaning of life and when I’ll get back to my fabulous life of restaurant hopping and brunch popping, it dawned on me that Iife really is short. I’ve been essentially quarantined since mid-March and it is now officially mid-September and only a few short months away from another birthday. I hadn’t even had a chance to officially fall off of my New Year’s Resolutions before the world officially stopped. I’m praying that things will be close to back to normal by late December (Cap life), so that I can not only celebrate another year of life, but also getting back to the life I had before the pandemic.

I’m not usually one for big birthday celebrations, as I usually find myself setting up last minute plans with close girlfriends. Yet this year, I find myself planning an official housewarming birthday gathering, even though I bought my house three and a half years ago. I guess I’m a little late, but I remodeled the entire first floor over the summer, which makes it eligible for a housewarming party (Staci logic). So I started to play around with party invitations on this site called Basic Invite.

Basic invite is an online invitation company that allows the customer to customize almost every detail on the invites, which is rare. Usually, you’re restricted to certain wording or a certain number of lines or standard info that they choose. That always makes invites so much more difficult to create, because I know what I like and I know what I want. But on this site, once you choose a design, you can customize it to your liking. And the best part……they have over 180 colors to choose from! It’s like flipping through a freaking digital pantone book. And for the ultimate win, you can order a sample of the invite before you place your final order! (Does praise dance in chair.) That allows you to be able to check out the paper quality and make any adjustments after you’ve seen it printed. I often find that sometimes the vision doesn’t execute quite the same way in person. And not only do they offer online invitations for parties, they also have an enormous selection of wedding invitations, baby shower invitations, and even 70th birthday invitations. I’ve literally spent hours playing around on this site. Check out the party invitation I mocked up for my birthday celebration below.
